Color Landscapes is preparing for the Southern Ideal Home Show! The Southern Ideal Home Show is a tradeshow that is happening this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Greensboro Coliseum. Different Landscape contractors from North Carolina will display their products and skills at this tradeshow. This past Saturday I went to work with my dad and helped build the Color Landscapes display.

Our display consists of an outdoor kitchen, a concrete paver patio, and a wooden pergola. This past Saturday the Color Landscapes crew and I worked on a Belgard concrete paver walkway. This walkway is a pathway that leads you though part of the landscape portion of the tradeshow. I most definitely got my workout while laying brick, those bricks are heavy! Kudos to the Color Landscapes installation crew! They are very talented at what they do.

Here’s a Picture of me laying the walkway.

Please come and see us at the show! The show is open Friday 10am to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 8pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Admissions is $9 at the door.

Hope to see you there!

Color Landscapes leads the industry by using the newest and most updated products such as Silva Cells. Silva Cells are fiberglass and galvanized steel structures that are installed in the ground. They provide sustainable soil environments for larger trees to be planted in urban areas like walkways, plazas, and parking lots. This is an eco-friendly product that replenishes oxygen, and reduces stormwater pollution.

For a project in Ashville NC, large zelkova trees were called for in an area close to a parking lot. Silva Cells were used to protect the health of the root system and prevent future damage to the asphalt. Silva Cells allow large, beautiful trees to be planted in parking lots without destroying or disrupting the soundings.

Here are a few pictures of our crew installing Silva cells.

Color Landscapes is now certified to install Techniseal products!

Are you having problems with weeds in your brick paver surfaces?  Do you want to protect your brick paver from oil, dirt, and rust stains? Would you like your brick paver to constantly have a clean “wet look”? Techniseal products are the answer!

Techniseal polymeric jointing seal fills in the creases between stones and prevents weeds from growing and keeps your paver patios looking neat and maintained. The jointing seal is a sand-like grit that is brushed in to the creases and then cemented in by water.

Techniseal seal treatment is great for protecting your paver driveways and patios from stains. While protecting the seal also gives your paver patios a new “wet look.” In using this product the driveway or patio is first cleaned,  all stains are removed then the seal is rolled on. The seal also prevents future stains from setting in. For example, if you like grilling out on your back patio, Techniseal seal treatment can prevent grease stains from seeping into the patio.

Take a look at some pictures on the Techniseal website.

PD Ross and Ben Roney attended Belgard University last week in Pinehurst North Carolina. After training classes they both passed the Techniseal certification test. Color Landscapes is committed to continuing education so that our customers get the best service.

If you are interested or have any questions about this new product please give us a call and we would be happy to help!
