Color Landscapes was proud to partner with E.M. Holt Elementary School in Alamance County to build their Butterfly Garden.   Parents and teachers joined together to create this beautiful outdoor environment for the children.

Color Landscapes donated the plant material for the project.  The garden includes: Ligustrum, Dwarf Yaupon Holly, Black Eyed Susans, Butterfly Bushes, Rosemary, Nandina, and Crape Myrtles.

The number one comment we get here at Color landscapes is that people want to add more Color to their landscape. If we have heard it once we have heard a thousand times. One of the best ways to add color to your landscape is by using annual planting beds.

An annual is a plant that is planted to be enjoyed for a season or two. They are different from a perennial in that they will not come back year to year. But, they come in more vibrant and more varieties of color. There are two main categories of annuals. One is summer annuals such as vinca, impatients, petunias, lantana, angelonia, sweet potato vine, and many many more. The other are winter annuals such as pansies, violas, snapdragons, cabbage, and kale.

Now is the perfect time to install winter annual beds. With the addition of a few strategically placed annual beds you can face lift your landscape fairly quickly and without having to dig too deep into your pockets. Winter annuals are easier to maintain because temperatures are cooler and we generally see more rain in our cooler months. And both of these factors translate to less maintenance. It may be time to look at adding those annual beds to bring that color to your landscape that you have been looking for.
